Ecuador is split into four distinct regions. They are the Amazon, Andes, Pacific coast, and Galapagos. This gives Ecuador the distinction of being the most biodiverse country in the world mainly because of the variety of flora and fauna in the upper Amazon coupled with the rich Galapagos Islands.

The landscape ranges from scenic stretches of coastline and rainforest, with high mountains and huge volcanoes. Ecuador even has the world's only permantly snow-capped peak on the equator. Even the capital city Quito has three large volcanoes within its city limits.

Besides natural attractions, Quito was the first city in the world to gain World Heritage status which was given for the city's unique Spanish and colonial architecture.

From natural to man-made wonders, let us show you the real Ecuador through our growing collection of unique photos.
