The archipelago of
San Andrés, as well as Providencia y Santa Catalina, is identified by UNESCO as a World Biosphere Reserve. It is located 480 miles (720 km) northwest from the Colombian Caribbean Coast.
The island is famous for the superb white sandy beaches that fringe the island, superb diving in crystal clear water, exciting nightlife, and duty-free shopping.
Spanish is the official language but the lcoals can and prefer to speak English.
