Pre-Columbian inhabitants and decendants called Native Americans, Aboriginals, First Nation, Indians, or Amerindians have a wide array of traditions and cultures scattered throughout North, Central, and South America. European immigration has also changed many of these cultures and to this day, they struggle to survive within European colonization. Around the time of the first European immigrants, African slaves were introduced, and now the Americas have established Afro-American populations particularly in the USA, Caribbean islands, and the Pacific Coast of Colombia. White Americans are the largest group of people in North America and this has contributed German, Irish, English, Italian, and French customs to the cultures of Canada and the USA.
