Cities in the Americas are some of the most distinct in the world. The most notable is New York, with Los Angeles and San Francisco also being iconic cities in the USA. In Canada, Vancouver has the distinction of being voted the most livable city in the world in a Mercer study which ranks cities by quality of life. Latin America, has large bustling metropolises like Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Bogota, and Buenos Aires which all have unique architecture and histories. Quito in Ecuador was the first Cultural Heritage Site designated for a city by UNESCO.
